Why handmade clothing in a fast fashion era?

In this era of fast fashion everywhere, what is the meaning of persisting with handmade clothing?

Let me answer as a handmade creator!  Seeing this question reminds me of the times I stitched creations stitch by stitch. I am the founder of an original handmade children's clothing brand. When I was little, my sister and I promised to make clothes for our dolls. I never imagined that childhood jest, that one day it would actually come true and I would create my own brand!

When a piece of clothing appears before me, what I imagine isn't the sewing techniques, but the moment a child puts it on. They will accompany the child on their daily adventures. Happy childhood memories become a gift when they grow up, bringing them back to childhood.

Driven by this passion, in 2008, I created the UK-based original brand Hanakimkids. The brand focuses on handmade custom girls' dresses and accessories. There's no overly complicated or flashy design; instead, we use the fabric's own texture and unique design to present the pieces. I choose organic cottons, gentle linens, silk, and recycled materials whenever possible. Softness matters for delicate skin, and protecting our planet matters for their future. Seeing a little one comfortable and knowing we tread lightly. That’s pure joy for me. This is also one of our brand philosophies.Eco-friendly fabrics, combined with hand-embroidery techniques, beading skills, and fashion-forward three-dimensional tailoring. The romance and splendor in the design are also the most sincere guardianship of a child's dreams, a continuous exploration and pursuit of the princess dream. Behind each piece is also the brand's persistence with traditional craftsmanship.
